Biography:
The Rev. Tomas Armando Iraheta, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, attended St. Leo University in Florida and graduated from Inter American University in Puerto Rico with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He served in the U.S. Army from 1991 to 1995.
"It was during this time [in the military] that I felt a stronger calling from the Lord to ministry," Pastor Armando says. "Out of all possible bases around the world, who knew I would end up in Fort Monmouth, N.J., home of the U.S. Army Chaplain Center and School. Was this a coincidence? I eagerly shared my joy of the Lord to other soldiers and even patients. But I really wanted more liberty to share the Gospel and preach."
In 1995 Pastor Armando began seminary studies at the Puerto Rico Evangelical Seminary, where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Divinity. He joined the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church in 2000, serving El Redentor UMC, Intercourse UMC and the Latino ministry at St. Paul’s UMC between 2003-2006.
Pastor Armando enjoys sports, movies, family time, music, acting and speaks three languages. He now pastors our church: Fuente de Amor UMC, which meets at Fulton Elementary School in the city of Lancaster.
Married to Mayra, he has four children: Roberto, Shady, Xavier and Tiffany Alexa. He and his family live in Lancaster.
Coach's Comments:
Without a doubt one of the highest motivated players I've ever had the pleasure to share a field with. Armando is not only a great player but also the spiritual leader in our team. With a very young heart and a mountain moving faith, I can only predict his skills to be near flawless in the future.
